Live on På Spåret

Here are the videos of yesterday’s live performances on the final of Swedish television show På Spåret!

The first performance had Petra performing a cover of Alphaville‘s “Sounds Like A Melody”. And what a fantastic cover of this 80s single it was.

Later in the show, Petra performed a cover of David Bowie‘s (Giorgio Moroder co-written and produced) track “Cat People (Putting Out Fire)”. Also this performance was as great as always.

The end tune of the show was a short orchestral version of the “Sanningen” melody.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas2013SeptemberFans wishes you a Merry Christmas and all the best in 2014!
Next year will bring us Petra’s first performance as the host of an event, “Allsång På Skansen”. With some luck we may even hear new songs next year because Petra has been writing music over the past months (remember the blog posts about Polina and NERVO?).

This year’s present is a video remix of “Satellites”, but unfortunately YouTube blocked it in almost every country.

If you can’t watch it, you could still watch one of the other video remixes on the channel:
Sanningen (Punchy Radio Remix)
Sanningen (Alaa Radio Edit Remix)
Until I Die (Short Clubmix)

“Sanningen” nominated for a Swedish Grammy

GrammisThe music video for “Sanningen”, this year’s first single, is nominated for a Swedish Grammy Award! The annual Grammis show is the Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards, and it’s a big achievement for Petra and the director that they’re nominated. Petra was nominated for a Swedish Grammy before: in 2005 she won one for “In Orbit”.

The video was directed by Magnus Härnder, who also directed “Händerna Mot Himlen”.

The nominations:
Robyn ft. Snoop Dogg: “U Should Know Better” (Decida)
Lars Bygdén: “The Hole” (Emil Gustafsson Ryderup)
Jenny Wilson: “Autobiography” (Jenny Wilson & Daniel Wirtberg)
Petra Marklund: “Sanningen” (Magnus Härdner)
Näääk ft. Nimo: “Vi Är Kvar Här” (Måns Nyman)

Fingers crossed for Petra and Magnus!

New single and summer tour!

After the hugely succesful release of “Inferno” and its accompanying tour earlier this year, a summer tour has been announced! It mainly consists of performances on events and festivals, starting with Peace & Love, where Petra will be performing as well as Depeche Mode, one of her favourite bands.

26/6 – Borlänge, Peace & Love
28/6 – Västerås, Västerås Cityfestival
29/6 – Skellefteå, Stadsfesten
4/7 – Sundsvall, Sundsvalls gatufest
7/7 – Örnsköldsvik, Sjunde i sjunde
13/7 – Luleå, Luleå Hamnfestival
16/7 – Fårö, Stora Gåsemora gård
17/7 – Karlshamn, Östersjöfestivalen
24/7 – Halmstad, Tylösand
1/8 – Borås, Borås Torg
3/8 – Arvika, Arvika Hamnfest
10/8 – Kalmar, Kalmar Stadsfest
5/8 – Stockholm, Gröna Lund

This is good news for fans that weren’t able to visit the first tour, but there’s some other great news – a new single will be released May 19! Förlorad Värld it is, and in the version of a fresh new radio edit! The cover photo was made in the football stadium Petra posted a photo of lately. The digital bundle includes both the album version and the new edit, as well as a new acoustic version of “Sanningen”!

Förlorad Värld
1. Förlorad Värld – 04:59
2. Förlorad Värld (Radio Edit) – 03:47
3. Sanningen (Akustisk) – 03:55

Notable is that the second single, “Sanningen”, didn’t chart. This possibly is because “Händerna Mot Himlen” is still (!) in the charts, and the fact that most people interested in the song already bought the full album. Let’s hope “Förlorad Värld” to be another hit!

Plagiarism also featured on Italian TV

The plagiarism by Italian singer Emma Marrone on Petra Marklund’s “Sanningen”, widely explained in the previous post, appears to also have been picked up by Italian TV program “Celebrity Now”. They mixed both videos together to make it look like one video. Click the image to watch the video!

Another Italian site also wrote about it. YouTubers are also starting to see the comparison, according to some reactions on Emma’s video.
