It’s out! The second single taken from Petra’s upcoming album (due for later this year) was released today. “Som Du Bäddar” (roughly translates as What goes around) is an indie pop song about being alone at times others are celebrating together.
The song was written by Petra Marklund, Joakim Berg and Simon Sigfridsson. Joakim Berg is the frontman of Swedish alternative/pop rock band Kent, who worked with Petra on multiple tracks on “Inferno”. Petra has also contributed to Kent’s latest album – the Grammis-winning and Platinum-selling “Tigerdrottningen” – by providing backing vocals for multiple tracks.
As usual, you can get the song on for example iTunes and Spotify. However, Petra replied to a fan asking for a vinyl single on Facebook that there will also be a vinyl release this time! But that’s all what’s known for now…
The 2015 Grammis Awards were held on February 25, with many Swedish singers, songwriters, directors and musicians attending the ceremony which is considered the Swedish equivalent of the international Grammy Awards. Petra was attending, of course, wearing an all-black outfit. Her hair is also getting longer again… 😉
An interesting nominee was Kent. The Swedish rock band was nominated for its latest album “Tigerdrottningen” – for which Petra provided backing vocals on four tracks – in the categories Årets Album and Årets Rock, with band member/songwriter Joakim Berg also nominated for Årets Textförfattare. Kent won for Årets Rock and Joakim was awarded Årets Textförfattare (songwriter of the year)!
For a list of nominees and winners, see grammis.se. The ceremony can be watched here.
Petra’s upcoming album “Så Mycket Svartare” has been added to cdon.se, a Swedish webshop.
It appears the new album will be released under Razzia Records, which makes sense as ‘Razzia’ can be seen on Jocke Berg’s guitar on an early press photo. There’s also an update on the album on the label’s official website, razziarecords.se.

“Så Mycket Svartare” – that is what the upcoming album will be called. In English it means “So Much Darkness”. The album is set for a release on October 24, 2012 – which is less than three months left! Produced by the likes of Jocke/Joachim Berg from Kent, Saska Becker who you may know for minor production on “Love CPR”, and Daniel Ledinsky.
Also, it appears that Petra is “taking a break” from team September, and will be releasing this album under her own name. Petra recently said in an interview with DN.se:
“I just want to do what I love. I’m very proud of this album. This record has been on my mind for quite some time so it feels great that it is ready now.”

More info on the new album: Petra describes her new sound as Coldplay, Florence + The Machine, and Depeche Mode. What to expect more is still unknown, but as she’ll also be working with Jocke Berg from Swedish rock band Kent (as earlier reported), it seems Petra’s trying new music styles.
I’m getting curious now! You?
Petra with Jocke Berg.
