10 years of “In Orbit”!

September - In OrbitToday, 26 October 2015, marks a decade of September’s second album “In Orbit“! This album spawned the singles “Satellites”, “Looking For Love”, “Flowers On The Grave” and “It Doesn’t Matter”, and contained the original version of Petra’s biggest international hit, “Cry For You”. Petra won a Grammis Award for this album in Sweden and the album was certified Gold in Poland.

A lot has happened in ten years. Follow-up albums “Dancing Shoes” and “Love CPR” were released in countries around the world, Petra released the 8x Platinum-certified September single “Mikrofonkåt”, and started performing in Swedish under her own name in 2012. Her second Swedish album, “Ensam Inte Stark”, is out next month.

Petra attends Grammis 2015

The 2015 Grammis Awards were held on February 25, with many Swedish singers, songwriters, directors and musicians attending the ceremony which is considered the Swedish equivalent of the international Grammy Awards. Petra was attending, of course, wearing an all-black outfit. Her hair is also getting longer again… 😉

An interesting nominee was Kent. The Swedish rock band was nominated for its latest album “Tigerdrottningen” – for which Petra provided backing vocals on four tracks – in the categories Årets Album and Årets Rock, with band member/songwriter Joakim Berg also nominated for Årets Textförfattare. Kent won for Årets Rock and Joakim was awarded Årets Textförfattare (songwriter of the year)!

“Sanningen” nominated for a Swedish Grammy

GrammisThe music video for “Sanningen”, this year’s first single, is nominated for a Swedish Grammy Award! The annual Grammis show is the Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards, and it’s a big achievement for Petra and the director that they’re nominated. Petra was nominated for a Swedish Grammy before: in 2005 she won one for “In Orbit”.

The video was directed by Magnus Härnder, who also directed “Händerna Mot Himlen”.

The nominations:
Robyn ft. Snoop Dogg: “U Should Know Better” (Decida)
Lars Bygdén: “The Hole” (Emil Gustafsson Ryderup)
Jenny Wilson: “Autobiography” (Jenny Wilson & Daniel Wirtberg)
Petra Marklund: “Sanningen” (Magnus Härdner)
Näääk ft. Nimo: “Vi Är Kvar Här” (Måns Nyman)

Fingers crossed for Petra and Magnus!
