Let’s all wish Petra a happy birthday! Our favourite singer turned 31 today. You can click the image to go to Petra’s Instagram post.
Because I’ve focused on realizing other sections of the site (to go live later this year), there have only been social media updates and not many blog updates, so here’s a recap of this summer!
Allsång På Skansen
For eight weeks, Petra hosted the Swedish sing-along television show Allsång På Skansen every Tuesday. She performed with artists such as Måns Zelmerlöw and Alcazar and had the audience sing along with many more. In the final episode, Petra announced that she would not return as the presenter in 2016, to be able to focus on her own music. Highlights can be seen on the SeptemberFans YouTube channel here.
Both Petra and Allsång were nominated for the Swedish television awards Kristallen, in the categories Årets kvinnliga programledare (This year’s female presenter) and Årets program (This year’s program).
No remixes for “Det Som Händer I Göteborg (Stannar I Göteborg)”
It recently became clear that remixes for Petra’s latest single “Det Som Händer I Göteborg (Stannar I Göteborg)” were initially due for release on Razzia Records, but that the label decided not to release them after all. Gladly, Gothenborg-based remix duo Don Palm released their extended remix as a free download on their SoundCloud page.
What’s coming up?
Petra’s tour has been postponed until early 2016. What this means regarding the upcoming album is unknown for now. Follow SeptemberFans on Facebook and Twitter for continuous updates!
The 2015 Grammis Awards were held on February 25, with many Swedish singers, songwriters, directors and musicians attending the ceremony which is considered the Swedish equivalent of the international Grammy Awards. Petra was attending, of course, wearing an all-black outfit. Her hair is also getting longer again… 😉
An interesting nominee was Kent. The Swedish rock band was nominated for its latest album “Tigerdrottningen” – for which Petra provided backing vocals on four tracks – in the categories Årets Album and Årets Rock, with band member/songwriter Joakim Berg also nominated for Årets Textförfattare. Kent won for Årets Rock and Joakim was awarded Årets Textförfattare (songwriter of the year)!
For a list of nominees and winners, see grammis.se. The ceremony can be watched here.
The music video for “Sanningen”, this year’s first single, is nominated for a Swedish Grammy Award! The annual Grammis show is the Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards, and it’s a big achievement for Petra and the director that they’re nominated. Petra was nominated for a Swedish Grammy before: in 2005 she won one for “In Orbit”.
The video was directed by Magnus Härnder, who also directed “Händerna Mot Himlen”.
Robyn ft. Snoop Dogg: “U Should Know Better” (Decida)
Lars Bygdén: “The Hole” (Emil Gustafsson Ryderup)
Jenny Wilson: “Autobiography” (Jenny Wilson & Daniel Wirtberg)
Petra Marklund: “Sanningen” (Magnus Härdner)
Näääk ft. Nimo: “Vi Är Kvar Här” (Måns Nyman)
Fingers crossed for Petra and Magnus!

“Love CPR” celebrates its two-year anniversary today. The album was released on Valentine’s Day 2011, two years ago already! It was awarded 2x Platinum for sales of over 80.000 copies as well!
Here’s an image of StoneBridge’s award, as posted by himself on Instagram.
Last night’s P3 Guldgalan in Gothenburg was slightly disappointing for Petra. She was nominated for Årets Artist (Artist Of The Year), but didn’t win unfortunately.
Nevertheless it was nice night, with performances by i.a. well known Swedish artists Icona Pop and Linnea Henriksson.
More about it here on Scandipop.
I’m a little late on this since I found out about it yesterday!
